The 2006 World Cup began today. It's the biggest sporting event in the world (billions of people watch the matches), but not so popular in the US. I must admit I'm not much of a soccer (or football as the rest of the world calls it) fan. however, I was a fan of the old NY Cosmos, which ruled the sports scene in the late 1970's. I'm writing to their biggest player, and the most famous soccer player ever.
